2020 Renault Sandero Unveiled, Likely India Bound
Renault has announced a second-go in India at the recently held global unveil of the triber MPV
and suggested that they realize the mistakes made and India is a tough market to crack. To give their second innings a reality touch, Renault has planned an onslaught of product launching in the coming months, starting from the Triber.
However, one product that's not on the list of the probable launches for the Renault in India
is the Sandero hatchback.Launched back in2014, two yers after Dacia debuted the second generation Sandero, the Renault-badged version will not get a proper update for the 2020 model.
This is not all-new model but as per the images revealedby Renault Brazil, it packs several updates , especially at the front and rear end that get a heavily revised look. At the front, the headlights receive minor updates including a C-shaped LED signature DRL's. The grille is also different and the bumper is more sportier.
At the rear, the 2020 Renault Sandero receives new taillights that adopt a more Renault-escape design with a new LED signature. The rear bumper is also revised. the last time Sandero got an update was a minor facelift in 2016.
There aren't yet any photos of the interior, but the hatchback will get improvements over the outgoing model, such as revised seating surfaces, dashboard and door panels. The 2020 Renault Sandero will continue to be built in Curitiba, Brazil for the local market and other Latin American Countries. In India though, it will be locally produced at the company,s plant.
The images show that the 2020 Renault Sandero sporting a 1.6 badge 1.6 badge, which means it's powered by a SCe 116 naturally-asoirated unit that produces 115 PS. There's also an ethanol fueled engine with 118 PS of maximum power The engine is mated to a CVT. However, for India, Renault can opt for a smaller 1.0 SCe unit that will be available in the India-spec Triber. This will make the hatchback more efficient and affordable.
If Renault plans to bring theSandero to India, it will go against the Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift. The new vehicle will be priced close to Rs 5 Lakh.
